Funny Garbage is a company that produces broadcast animation, interactive television, web sites, games and product designs. John Carlin and Peter Girardi founded Funny Garbage in 1996. Funny Garbage designed the puppets for Comedy Central's show Crank Yankers.
Prior to the founding of the bona fide company, Funny Garbage was the name of a magazine, self published by Peter Girardi and Chris Capuozzo, then students at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, NY. Featuring artists both professional and student, the xeroxed magazine contained works by Harvey Kurtzman and his then assistant Sarah Downs, as well as Mark Sunshine, Paul Komoda, Mark Marek, Ben Jackson, and Ian Farrell, and various inked and collaged works by Girardi and Capuozzo. Actual printed copies of the publication are quite rare.[citation needed]
