The word funnel has several meanings.
- A funnel is a conical device for channelling fluids or other substances into narrow openings.
- The chimney of a ship is often called a funnel.
- A funnel cloud (aloft) is a quickly rotating column of air usually below a cumulonimbus cloud but more generally under a cumiliform cloud which does not produce fast winds at the surface
- The visible part of a tornado (ignoring a debris cloud), or as an all inclusive term including funnel cloud aloft, is known as a condensation funnel.
- Funnel cake is a fried batter desert.
- A major series of interchanges in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, located near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, is locally referred to as the Funnel.
