'Fulminating Silver' is the name given to a number of explosive silver-containing substances that that "fulminate" or detonate easily and violently.
"Fulminating silver" has no exact chemical or dictionary definition.
It may
- be a synonym of Silver fulminate (which, confusingly, is the only "Fulminating Silver" to be a Silver compound with the fulminate anion};
- also be a synonym of Silver azide;
- also refer to a mixture, a decomposition product of Tollen's reagent; or,
- refer to the alchemical substance "Argentum Fulminans".
