[edit] Rob West and Ontario NDP candidates

It looks like you're having some sort of dispute with User:CJCurrie. Could I be of some assistance in resolving it? Sarcasticidealist (talk) 07:05, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Not sure how this user talk works, but yeah I don't mind someone else's perspective and/or assistance on the matter. Granted, I'm new to adding or editing anything on Wikipedia, but this is clearly retaliation from making a similar page and trying to add a link. This guy clearly went out of his way to even mark the other page for deletion. The main reason why I'm annoyed by this situation is the fact that other page made has outdated, broken, or just plain false reference links listed which means none of the information is valid. I don't really understand what this guy's problem is and why he went out of his way to make everything more complicated.

If the other page you're talking about is Rob West (Author), then CJCurrie played not part in deleting that. User:DGG is the one who proposed it for deletion, while User:Fvasconcellos actually did the deed. As for the question of a link to that article on the New Democratic Party candidates, 1987 Ontario provincial election, I agree that it would be inappropriate. What I would suggest instead is changing Rob West, which currently redirects to the candidate list, to instead redirect to the author page. However, since the author page doesn't exist, that's something of a moot point.
As for why the author page was deleted, it was deleted because its subject was considered not to be non-notable. Notability is caused by coverage by independent, reliable sources. See Wikipedia:BIO#Creative_professionals for some guidelines on how our notability policies are applied to creative professionals like novelists. See also Wikipedia:OUTCOMES#Literature for some information on what the outcomes usually are when authors are nominated for deletion. And please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 18:16, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
