Fukushima-juku (福島宿 Fukushima-juku?) was the thirty-seventh of the sixty-nine stations of the Nakasendō, as well as the fifth of eleven stations on the Kisoji. It is located in the present-day town of Kiso, in the Kiso District of Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

[edit] History

Its tax and inspection (関所 sekisho) location were located at the northern entrance of the post town. In addition to being the mid-point on the Kisoji, it was also around the midpoint between Edo and Kyoto, making it known as one of the four large sekisho in the Edo period.[1]
