Fukuchiyama (福知山市 Fukuchiyama-shi?) is a city located in northern Kyoto Prefecture, Japan, on the Yura River. It is about 25 km inland from the Sea of Japan at the southern end of the Fukuchiyama Valley, and is surrounded by mountains to the south, west, and east.
As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 82,425 and a density of 146 persons per km². The total area is 552.57 km².
The city was founded on April 1, 1937.
