[edit] Synopsis
The arrival of walking, talking flowers puts the ponies in the middle of a war that could destroy Dream Valley - and they're not sure whose side they're really on.
[edit] Plot
[edit] Part 1
Whizzer and Masquerade are shocked to find the forests near Paradise Estate being torn apart by Crab Nasties. The crablike beasts ignores Masquerade's protests, insisting that they must 'the Flores' before it's too late. The pegasi fly back to the Estate to tell Megan.
The Flores - a group of intelligent, talking flowers - have reached exhaustion point, running from the Crab Nasties for days without water or fertile soil. They are delighted to discover the Estate's lush gardens, but are wary of the 'strange creature' that dwells there - the Little Pony named Posey. Seeing that Posey care of the garden, the Flores come out of hiding and beg her for water and soil. Amazed by the talking flowers, Posey offers them pride of place in her garden.
When Megan and Cherries Jubilee come to visit Posey, the Flores tell them that they're on the run from the Crab Nasties, who would enslave them. Masquerade and Whizzer bring the news that the Crab Nasties are near, sending the Flores into panic. Posey promises to protect the Flores, but Masquerade isn't convinced the Flores speak truth. They're forced to choose sides when the Crab Nasties arrive, utterly wrecking the garden and surrounding forest to get to the Flores. Megan and the Ponies flip the Crab Nasties onto their backs, leaving them helpless. Despite the beasts' insistence that they are police and the Flores are fugitives, Megan shuts the Crab Nasties in a stone prison some way from the Estate.
That night, Masquerade camoflagues herself in the garden and overhears the Flores' plans to consume the Paradise Estate's gardens, and any other useful land they can find. Taking root in the soil, the Flores feed, quickly growing to massive size. All the other plants wither around them, leaving Masquerade with no cover - and the Flores capture her, tying her up with their vinelike tendrils...
[edit] Part 2
Whizzer spots the Flores carrying the bound Masquerade in the reflection of a river, and hides before the plants walk past. Whizzer unties Masquerade as the Flores sleep off their meal, and the pegasi return to the stone prison, but find the Crab Nasties are long gone.
Posey is devastated to discover her garden ruined, and cannot believe the Flores could be so evil. Megan tells her that she can't always judge things on appearances, as looks can be deceiving. Whizzer reports that she's found the Crab Nasties by the lake. At first, the Crab Nasties want nothing to do with the Ponies, but when the Flores hurl boulders at them from the top of a cliff, the groups join forces. Though Megan and the Flores all become tangled in vines, the chief Crab Nasty holds a Flore over the edge of the cliff, forcing their surrender.
With the Flores safely locked away, the Crab Nasties thank the Ponies for their eventual co-operation. Posey apologises for their wrongful arrest, and the Crab Nasties respond by ploughing her garden, making it ready for replanting.
[edit] Notes
