Fugazi is the second studio album of the progressive rock band Marillion. It was released in 1984 and was the first album with Ian Mosley on drums. A 2-CD remastered version with additional B-sides and demos was released in 1998.

According to Fish, the band's vocalist at the time, the title refers to a slang term from the Vietnam War.

The album was produced under difficult circumstances, with the band employing and ejecting a number of drummers in quick succession following the departure of Mick Pointer, before finally settling on Ian Mosley. The band has also stated that it was not content with the result, most notably, the production quality. The remaster is somewhat improved in this respect.

[edit] Assassing

This song concerns Fish's ambivalent feelings about firing several former members of Marillion, especially founding member and drummer Mick Pointer ("the collector"). The word "assassing" was an invented verb by singer/songwriter Fish, mixing the words "Assassin" (a killer) and "Sassing" (which means a one who talks disrespectfully to another). The lyrics are full of speech metaphors alluding to verbal fighting, for example, "Unsheathe the blade within the voice." There is an extended version of Assassing which features a guitar solo that is best described as a sort of musical "cloak and dagger" taunt.

This song refers to a popular puppet show, Punch and Judy. The lyrics are about divorce.

At a live gig, Fish said this song was about meeting an ex-girlfriend in a pub (possibly with another man), and refreshing her memory regarding certain erotic pictures of her that had been taken. It's about revenge after being dumped, after being in love. It contains the softly spoken line "I'm the irritating speck of dirt that came from absolutely nowhere."
