Fuel duty rebate is a scheme by which bus operators in the United Kingdom can reclaim up to 80% of the duty paid on diesel fuel used in their buses. With increasing fuel prices, the "cushion" of tax experienced by private motorists is not felt by bus companies, since they are exposed to volatile market prices.
Fuel Duty Rebate (FDR) is only available on services which comply with the FDR regulations. Therefore not all services operated by bus operators can claim this rebate.
