[edit] Replacements for Tachikoma's in 2nd Gig

The replacements at the end of the second season are actually "Uchikoma" (Unless I'm missing a syllable). They look almost exactly like Fuchikoma except for the Tachikoma style legs and the single "eye" in the front (a sphere type also used on the Tachikoma). There is also an additional "eyeball" on the underside of the pod just like the Tachikoma had. Smidge204 21:13, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Uchikoma's are a mixture of Tachikoma and Fuchikoma. --Rebirth 00:13, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Where does the term "Uchikoma" come from? In the Region 1 DVD release of the episode "Endless GIG," the Major clearly calls the replacement Think Tanks "Fuchikomas."--Eldritch2k4 05:29, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Fansubbers who were too lame to read the manga? Transentient 22:47, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

The artbooks and model kits all label the GITSAC version as Uchikoma and differentiate them from tachikoma.

[edit] Merge?

Merger Tachikoma/Fuchikoma
  • Someone apparently suggested merging Fuchikoma and Tachikoma. I don't think it makes sense - they're substantially different. DenisMoskowitz 02:15, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose both articles are long 70.51.11.121 06:11, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

A Tachikoma-like spider-tank makes an appearance in Masamune Shirow's Dominion Tank Police too, which might be worth mentioning in "appearances".

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ghost In The Shell Japanese-inside.jpg

Image:Ghost In The Shell Japanese-inside.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
