The final table of Germany's 1st Bundesliga of football, season 1977/78. Bayern München had their worst Bundesliga performance ever.

1. FC Köln had a ten goal lead on Borussia Mönchengladbach before both teams played their last match of the season. Borussia Mönchengladbach managed to close the gap with a record 12-0 victory in the last match against Borussia Dortmund, 1. FC Köln however still won the title by beating FC St. Pauli 5-0.
