Reverted to previous version more accurately describing the role of various personnel systems used in the State Department for diplomatic assignments. But would prefer to delete references to "foreign" or "Civil" services as this as a contentious issue within the Department and not important for the general reader.

[edit] Sockpuppetry case
You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Fsbrat for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Bevinbell (talk) 05:19, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
This is what I found:
I had noticed you had flagged User:FsBrat as a puppet. I was pretty sick of the constant revers for Department of State, United States Foreign Service, etc. Tensions among Foreign Service, Civil Service, and others serving abroad is quite high and people like him/her don't help. The IP address resolves for most State traffic, even I have unknowingly posted on it when I'm at lunch and the login system has not worked.
Keep up your diligence. Mikebar (talk) 11:25, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I am "FSBrat" and first of all apologize if I chose an insulting or vulgar? name. As a member of the FS, I had no bad intentions. I grew up overseas and people like me are often called "Foreign Service Brats". Regarding the edits I made, they were based on personal experience and knowledge as an insider in the system at Foggy Bottom. My edit was reverted by someone who called it "vandalism". therefore I reverted it back and posted an explanation. Then the explanation (on the talk page which I thought was the proper place to post it) was also deleted, or at least partially deleted. Could you please explain why you are making such accusations?Fsbrat

[edit] More info needed
You recently compiled and listed a case at requests for checkuser. A checkuser or clerk has requested you supply one or more diffs to justify the use of the checkuser procedure in the case, in accordance with the procedures listed in the table at the top of the requests for checkuser page. For an outcome to be achieved, we require that you provide these diffs as soon as possible. This has been implemented to reduce difficulties for checkusers, and is essential for your case to be processed. A link to your recently-created case which has this information missing is here. Thanks for your co-operation. -- lucasbfr talk 06:50, 20 May 2008 (UTC), checkuser clerk.
[edit] State
Thanks for your comment on my talk page. I tend to believe that the original language with foreign service is indicative of the workforce abroad. Yes, there is a mix with some GS limited appointments abroad but the FS was established to do a specific job and is the bulk of diplomacy abroad and an important part of support in DC serving with our CS and contractor colleagues.
[edit] FS vs. CS
Thanks for continuning to take an interest in wikipedia's entry for all things related to the FS and the State Department. You were reported as a suspected sockpuppet, along with several other user names, as you all made similar single purpose edits within a short time frame from IP 169.252.4.21. The a further checkuser request was completed that concluded that you were indeed a likely sockpuppet due to time stamps, IP addresses when logged in, and nature of your edits. I think its pretty clear that you were editing under a number of wikinames and as an anon which combined is a big no no. I assume that you did this as either without knowing you were not supposed to or because you are trying to drum up support for your unique point of view. I have not sought out an editing block yet for your actions as a sockpuppet. Your sockpuppetry has nothing to do with your username.
I would suggest that you cease vandalising various pages - it is considered bad form to edit user pages for other users - certainly you can leave messages on other user talk pages, but if they are deleted it just means that the user that you left them for has read them and does not see value in keeping them. Also, it was bad form to submit a checkuser on me (of which request was denied by wiki check clerks and the request deleted) for nothing more than pure vengence with a heavy dose of ignorance. copying and repeating comments in various places is not exactly a contribution to encyclopedic work, such as you did to your own check user archived report and to the sockpuppet report for yourself (not to mention the pasting of the same on other user's talk pages).
Finally, you seem to have a single minded devotion to calling all employees in the State Department Civil Service, not withstanding consensus language and well cited references to the department's own websites. I am curious, why have you not taken this same mission to other agencies and departments of the executive branch - by your logic the Vice President and the cabinet are all civil service in the same manner that the FS is a part of the civil service. You have lost a lot of credibility not just to to the inanity of your edits, but by tring to sockpuppet your opinion into something greater than your own thoughts on both the edit and talk pages for the FS and State Department. I archived, easily accessible, all the prior sockpuppet edits rather than to have had them deleted (which could be done) as you have a right to your voice. you just cant make up seven personalities to make it look like there is a tidal wave of support for your interesting positions.
Foreign Service Officers are commissioned, senate confirmed and presidential attested positions. They serve in a very different manner than Civil Service and have a uniquely legislated position with the federal government. Please stop your non-constructive edits on these pages. If you have an edit, rather than just reverting to your preferred language, take it to the talk page and propose it for community discussion and maybe we can all find common ground. But if you just sockpuppet the discussion, you may find yourself PNG'd from wiki.Bevinbell (talk) 00:47, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
