Hm, didn't catch your {{db-spam}}, but I've prodded it. Hopefully this will help flush it out. But of course, now I'm craving a nice cup of tea... - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:27, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Moving article to sandbox
Cary - I'd love to take you up on moving my article to the sandbox and reworking it. However, other editors have pointed out a "conflict of interest." So, does this mean that no matter what I post, it will be deleted? I've seen examples of the preferred way for citations and can definitely use them, but don't want to waste my time (or yours) if it'll be deleted for the "conflict of interest." If you could advise, I'd greatly appreciate it.NC Aquarium PKS (talk) 19:01, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- The deletion tag has been removed from the article so I think it should be okay now. They just didn't want it to sound like you were advertising for the aquarium. If you still want to make major changes to it I can move it to your sandbox and help you out. Just let me know on your talk page or on mine, I have bookmarked them both. I will be off and on Wikipedia so I might not be able to respond right away, but I will gladly respond when I get a chance :) --From-cary (talk) 19:42, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
I've posted a draft in the sandbox. Would it be possible to get your input? Thanks.NC Aquarium PKS (talk) 16:31, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- Putting drafts in the main sandbox is not a good idea because it is constantly being cleaned out. Users usually create a personal sandbox for their own use in their own user space. I have created one for you at User:NC Aquarium PKS/sandbox and I have put your draft there. Once you have the article the way you want it, it can be moved to the main article page. I will look over the article and see if there are any changes that should be made and will get back to you soon. --From-cary (talk) 16:39, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
I created User:NC Aquarium PKS/sandbox after the user posted it in the WP:Sandbox. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:43, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- It looks like we both tried to create it around the same time, but the history shows that I created it. Either way, it got created.--From-cary (talk) 16:45, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
I have reviewed the article and made the following changes:
- I fixed the headings. You have to type ==Heading==, not [[Heading]]. The latter will create a link to an article, not a heading.
- I made the headings lowercase. This is the standard on Wikipedia.
- I removed a link to a website from within the article. It was already in the references and it would be considered spam if it was left in the article.
- I added links to other articles on Wikipedia. This is done in all Wikipedia articles. It can be done by placing [[ ]] around the text that you want to link. A few of the links will show up red because the corresponding articles have not been created yet. This is OK, whenever someone makes them they will automatically turn blue.
- I removed a link to an image because the image doesn't seem to have been uploaded. If you would like to upload an image, it can always be added in later.
You did a great job citing sources, and this was the main problem before. Now the article is very informative and it has the sources to back it up. Unless you have more information you would like to add, I think the article is ready to be moved to the main article page. Let me know what you think. --From-cary (talk) 17:22, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
THANK YOU! I have just a couple questions before I move it to the main page.... I believe you removed the link to seaturtle.org. I rephrased the sentence and placed it back in as they are a separate nonprofit that tracks our data for us that has given me specific permission to cite their site. Also, on the link to the image that hadn't been uploaded.... I uploaded it to the Commons area this morning. Does it take a while to get approved and show up? Again, thank you very much!NC Aquarium PKS (talk) 17:31, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- It shouldn't take any time at all for the Commons to to update. Maybe you typed the wrong image name in the article. The name has to be exact or it won't work. You could try putting it in again, just be sure to use the exact image name. As for the link to seaturtle.org, it will probably be OK in this article, but it still wouldn't surprise me if someone else came along and took it out. Some people are picky about links because so many people use Wikipedia to advertise their companies and websites, which is not allowed. We'll have to wait and see what happens. --From-cary (talk) 17:37, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
I see you have moved the page. Good job on creating the article. FYI: I have been to the aquarium twice before. I go to Emerald Isle every summer. It is a very nice aquarium, especially after the renovation! --From-cary (talk) 18:00, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Night Art School
Hi Cary,
The CSD tag you placed here [1] isn't quite right. Yes the article should be speedily deleted, but not because it's blatant vandalism. Rather it's blatant advertising (G11 as opposed to G4). Cheers! :) Xdenizen (talk) 01:24, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- I realized my mistake almost right away and corrected it. You must have caught me between edits ;) --From-cary (talk) 01:25, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey there, just FYI, the sandbox can not be speedily deleted, so I ask you to please stop requesting it to be. Thank you, Tiptoety talk 05:16, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tsuyoshi Takashiro
I'm confused about why you tagged this article for speedy deletion as lacking context, when it has context, and an assertion of notability. This is one that should use the AfD process if it gets deleted. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 11:36, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- The exact same page with the exact same content had just been deleted by an administrator. I figured if it was worth deleting then it would be worth deleting now. --From-cary (talk) 11:38, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- There's an assertion of notability and a source. It is much longer than the previous version, and has more specific details about the person's notability. Reading the article, I think that this person probably does meet WP:BIO in Japan. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 11:39, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- I suppose I acted a little hastily. The page wasn't any good the first time so I didn't take too much time looking through it the second time. --From-cary (talk) 11:41, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- The no-context tag is for articles that really have NO context; the ones that, you read them and you can't even tell what they're about. For articles like the first version of this one, a {{db-bio}} tag is a better choice. But... no worries. We all end up verifying each other's edits anyway around here, don't we? Nobody has a 0% error rate. Except me, of course. ;)-FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 11:45, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've never used the {{db-bio}} tag before, thanks for pointing it out. As for my error rate, it's pretty high at the moment, as I'm pretty new around here. --From-cary (talk) 11:50, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- We were all new once; my first month's archives have tons of messages from people pointing out how I should be doing things. Patrolling is useful work and you catch on to the nuances pretty quickly when you're doing it; feel free to ask me questions if they come up... -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 11:52, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Corvus (genus
Thanks for your input on Corvus (genus), however if you look at the talk page of the article, you'll see that a sandbox article at User:Plcoffey/SandboxCorvus (genus) has been created in order to facilitate the creation of an article with that name, since neither of the current articles (Raven and crow) are inclusive of the entire genus. —Preceding comment was added at 21:46, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, it just didn't seem right to have an article with nothing in it. I overlooked the fact that you are working on one in your sandbox. --From-cary (talk) 21:49, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New Category
Hi, thank you for speedy deletion notice. Right now, I am categorizing Japanese education related articles. So far, I found at least two of them that I can put in the category. I appreciate if you'd wait a moment since I am not accustomed to enwp. Thanks. --Tomo suzuki (talk) 22:14, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- Shouldn't this be in the Category namespace though? --From-cary (talk) 22:16, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- You're 100% right. My mistake. Thanks. --Tomo suzuki (talk) 23:53, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Deletions unexpectedly fast
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Cyberplasm/sandbox I want to submit this what do you think? It was deleted before while my edit was still in progress and I lost those edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cyberplasm (talk • contribs) 07:07, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- It seems like a good article. It is not very long and I'm not promising someone else won't delete it, but I have seen articles of about the same length on Wikipedia. I made the Notes section one column because that is the norm on Wikipedia. I would also recommend combining the References and Notes sections by putting the one item in the References section into a <ref> </ref> tag like the four items in the Notes section. Sorry if I was responsible for the deletion of the original page. Articles usually get deleted right away unless they have good information in them from the start. Let me know if you have any questions. --From-cary (talk) 08:28, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
I hope no one deletes it. What I am hoping is that someone can expand it to be as informational as the Alice Waters article for example, there is a lot of reference information out there if you know where to look. I am trying to get a photo for it. Cyberplasm (talk) 16:15, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have added a tag for WikiProject Agriculture to the discussion page so maybe someone else who is knowledgeable in this area will contribute. I know nothing about this kind of thing so I can't be of much help. Good job on creating the article! --From-cary (talk) 16:33, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] WP:Relax
Hey there. I appreciate all of your hard work as a member of the new content patrol.
I notice that you're a relative newcomer here, and I understand you're out there patrolling all the new content, etc. However, in the future, please allow established editors the leeway to build their articles. You placed an erroneous CSD tag to a bio of Joseph Taluto within 90 seconds of its creation, not nearly enough time for any human being to write a biography.
In the future, I would suggest looking at A) the creating authors edit count, B) google.com, to check the notability of the subject, and C) Special:WhatLinksHere, to see if the article that is being created is already mentioned in other Wikipedia articles.
I have removed your tag. Please have a look at User_talk:GBenemy/Archive_1#Ruth Hassell-Thomspon for more information. Thanks a lot! Mrprada911 (talk) 20:02, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- I got trigger happy and added the tag before spending enough time looking at the article. I am sorry and I will pay more attention in the future. --From-cary (talk) 20:08, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
