Talk:Froot Loops
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There should be talk of when the flavors were introduced. I remember it used to be just the orange yellow and pink.198.53.176.96 (talk) 04:40, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure Banana is a flavor of fruit loop. At least not in the US...-68.201.56.240
Also, Marshmallow is flavour of froot loop? I believe they are supposed to be Lemon, Lime, Blueberry, Cherry, Orange, and Grape, but they tend to form a rather singular 'Froot Loop taste'-Mpbx3003
I was reading on straightdope.com that Kelloggs has claimed that all of the delicious loops are the same flavor. http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mfroot.html --Atr0p1s 12:55, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
- This was also stated on Unwrapped. PrometheusX303 18:10, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Can we say 'obviously inspired by Donald Duck's nephews' without evidence to back it up? RiotGearEpsilon
- Probably not. I changed it to "possibly". PrometheusX303 18:10, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] errors
A few errors on this page. The Australian version of Froot Loops are actually called Fruit Loops. And it states that the colours do not represent different flavours at the start, but then later goes into explaining that the different colours are different flavours (ie, red is cherry).
Not good. I am going to edit this now, I will delete the tag about it being all the same flavour (as I myself have noticed a subtle difference in Fruit Loops) and also mention the alternate spelling JayKeaton 04:06, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Um the only external citation in this article directly contradicts what the article says. According to Kelloggs, its all one flavour. See the link above.

- Jaykeaton, you've confessed to changing the article based on original research. The colors may "represent" different flavors, but the flavor is the same. PrometheusX303 16:56, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- They are all the same flavor. If you try to guess what they are with your eyes closed you'll see that you can't do any better than random. I always thought they tasted differently until I tried this and it became clear to me that my brain was taking the ambiguious "fruit loop" flavor and matching it up to whatever I thought it was supposed to taste like (i.e. red for cherry). --Fastfission 14:47, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

- The flavor you taste is likely real, but part of the blend. As you said, you associate the color with a particular flavor, and that one becomes most prominent. PrometheusX303 21:16, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Not sold in Europe
Can anyone tell me why Froot Loops isn't sold in Europe because I'm from the UK, I've tried it and I like the cereal so why can't we have it? --Yuri Elite
- I know I have seen them in german supermarkets during the nineties, but have only bought them one time and didn't look for them thereafter, as I didn't really like them. However, german website lists them as one of their products but being unavailable. Probably has to do something with either the ingredients or maybe license issues. Don Cuan 19:55, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
I am German (now 20 years old) and ALWAYS had these for breakfast when I was young! I would wonder why they should take them from the shelves, but honestly I didn't check recently...I'll try to remember and have a look.--~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.190.171.193 (talk) 08:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Add another picture
Add a picture of the current froot loops box.
[edit] Please...
...purchase me a teddy bear ;). I do not have one that is fuzzy yet. I believe we should mention information on the Tooty Frooties, or in another another another words words, the Malt-O-Meal kind.
