[edit] Playstation 3 release
I have found no information containing the release of this game to the PS3. Has anyone else found any? :^) §†SupaSoldier†§ 02:31, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- On the main game website it has the Playstation 3 logo along with the other sytems' ones. 70.162.132.42 18:52, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
That can pretty easily be photo-shopped in by a fan of the series that owns a PS3...Has any one found Hard evidence or a cited reference. §†SupaSoldier†§ 19:44, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- A fan of the series that owns a PS3 could Photoshop a logo onto the official web-site? While I suppose this could happen, wouldn't Kaos Studios notice that their website was defaced?
- My mistake, I have already edited it in that this game will be out for the PS3 (According to Game Informer). :^) §†SupaSoldier†§ 21:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Playstation 3 version cancelled?
Their is news circulating the internet the ps3 version has been cancelled because it does not apper on the gamestop or ebgames website, the ps3 logo on the website has no link unlike the xbox and thq one, and i called gamestop and the guy told me he only saw it coming for the 360 on his computer, i don't wanna say it is confirmed but should we at lease add a article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.74.81.83 (talk) 21:58, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
This source is not an accurate source. http://www.videogamer.com/news/23-01-2008-7328.html No sources or anything. No press release from THQ. Nothing.
This source, is THQ. An accurate source. http://www.thq.com/games/gameinfo.php?id=1282&upc=99021 Until this website changes Frontlines is not canceled or if there is a press release. I am reverting the article.--WhereAmI (talk) 01:28, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- I did some more digging and the official forums are saying that it is canceled. Once a press release is made, the article can be changed.--WhereAmI (talk) 01:45, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Forgot the forum post. http://community.kaosstudios.com/showthread.php?t=4624 --WhereAmI (talk) 01:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Press release[1] -- pb30<talk> 01:54, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- I thought the whole point of the cancellation was that they didnt have enough funds and went outside their budget. Not that it was too hard to develop for the PS3 - that doesnt make any sense... afterall, how many PS3 games are there that use Unreal Engine 3? And that article is quite biased if you ask me... "get a PC or 360 instead"... hmm, perhaps another source people?Damien Russell (talk) 00:49, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] article body
The article is just a copy/paste of the website. This is clearly advertising and it should be removed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Muldoon X9 (talk • contribs) 23:24, 2 March 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Release Date
The company has not set an exact release date for this game. It has only said February 2008 at this time. Retailers are listing a variety of release dates but none of them are confirmed.
Mjayg (talk) 20:03, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
-
- IGN and Gamespot both have confirmed release dates of February 25th. This coincides pretty accurately with the countdown timer on exeoinc.com. Please stop removing the release date from the article. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 21:38, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
No release date has been released by the company or given to the media or retailers. They are speculating and are incorrect. The countdown timer on exeoinc.com is incorrect. I am the Community Manager for the company and have linked to the Kaos Studios FAQ where this is stated. The official THQ page also has no release date beyond "coming soon".
Mjayg (talk) 04:01, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

- You're behind an anonymous account that we have no way of verifying that the information is correct, and you are saying that the official website is wrong? Riiiight. Sorry, but that's not the way Wikipedia policies work: No original research. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 07:26, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
The official website has "coming soon" and the FAQ on the Kaos Studios site says "February 2008" as I linked to yesterday. This is speculation on the part of the sites you referenced.

I've enabled email on my account and put in my THQ email. Not sure whatever proof you need but what happened to "be polite" and "assume good faith"? Whether you believe who I am or not, I'm telling you the company has not announced a release date which can easily be verified. Just because the media or retailers put up a date does not make it a fact. The company has not announced a release date beyond February 2008 is a verifiable fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mjayg (talk • contribs) 14:29, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

- Even if you are who you say you are, email to you constitutes original research, and does not count here. You need to review our policies on verifiability: information here doesn't need to be "the truth" it only needs to be verifiable to a reliable source, which the above information clearly is. Removing reliably sourced information is a big no no here, it's considered vandalism. Keep it up and you're going to end up unable to edit. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 14:42, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, your "sources" are unusable. The first one doesn't even mention release dates, so it doesn't help you. The second one is a wiki, meaning it does not qualify as a reliable source. As I said before, even if you are who you say you are, which is doubtful, it doesn't mean you get to control this article; in fact your attempts to remove the reliably sourced information constitute a conflict of interest. As I said before: stop removing the sourced release date, or you're going to end up blocked from editing. If you have a problem with the release date, take it up with Gamespot, IGN, GamingTrend, and the multitude of other sites that disagree with you. Until they say that there is no announced date, it remains in.⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 14:50, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Edit warring isn't going to solve the problem. I've confirmed that Mjayg is really KaosMitch, the community manager. I think both of your points should be included in the article. No official release date has been announced, but several sites report Feb 25. -- pb30<talk> 19:12, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
-
- If he is the community manager, then first of all it's a conflict of interest for him to be editing this, and second of all, he has the power to say explicitly on his site that there is no release date. Otherwise, despite who he may be, his position is incompatible with Wikipedia policies. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 19:41, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Regardless of the policies, the entry on this game is still incorrect. The media and retailers speculate on a release date until one is announced and if you look at sites other than IGN and Gamespot there are many different dates listed. I'm telling you as a representative of the developer and publisher of the game we have not announced a release date any more specific than February 2008 and the official site (www.frontlines.com) and THQ's site list no release date beyond "coming soon" or "available now" (for pre-order). As for your statement "to say explicitly on his site that there is no release date" - the Kaos Studio FAQ that I have linked to previously lists "February 2008" as the release date and states that no specific date has been announced. mjayg (talk) 05:41, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
-
- February 2008 is still a release date, and where there is ambiguity in the "official date", we can resolve it by looking at the extremely widely reported date from respected sites like IGN and Gamespot (who frankly, are more trustworthy than the vast majority of sites that say otherwise). If you really want to fix it, do one of two things: announce on the Kaos Studio site that there "is no release date" (not specific, none at all), or announce on the Kaos studios site the specific release date. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 15:22, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Oh hey look. It was released the 25th. Funny that. Mental note: it makes no sense to pretend you don't have a release date when your game has gone gold, and it's 3 weeks before the alleged release. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 04:16, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, it shipped from the manufacturers on the 25th, 'release' date when you can buy it online like Steam / D2D and shops is 27th US and 29th UK. I'm in the UK and want this game and surprise surprise I can't, even though it's after your release date. Anyway, wouldn't have commented at all but what a poor attitude you have! Others were just trying to make a helpful (and accurate) contribution that was properly referenced. (144.32.155.232 (talk) 12:59, 27 February 2008 (UTC))
-
- You explained your own problem, you're in the UK. UK release dates are generally different than US release dates.⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 17:06, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Is Frontlines Fuel of War a game that doesn't have a story?
I've looked at the article, and it doesn't mention a single player story. Is this game more like Star Wars Battlefront or an ordinary FPS? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.199.222.64 (talk) 15:44, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- I imagine the game will have a detailed storyline, and a section will be developed upon its release. see "Plot" for a basic outline of what you can expect. xenocidic (talk) 16:20, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Thanks, also, I'm guessing that, due to the frontline mechanic, there will be an Instant Action mode?
-
-
- I'm guessing it will be something like Total Air War, but from the perspective of an FPS footsoldier. Am I mistaken? 122.167.130.42 (talk) 18:07, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Bodhi

- It appears that the story is, in fact, radical left-wing propaganda.. more of that 'blood for oil' crap. Is that really going to over well with fans of military gun combat games? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.72.21.221 (talk) 03:27, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Calling it radical left-wing propoganda is a bit of a stretch. The story is actually fairly well written, and is a major component of the SP mode, with cutscenes and characters integrated into the game. 199.101.9.224 (talk) 15:28, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] hornet of halo3
shouldn't there be some mention of the similarities of halo universe and this game i mean from what i just saw on a comercial i saw a hornet and many similarities between halo and this game —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.159.197.82 (talk) 02:28, 26 February 2008 (UTC) I think the Hornet like thing looks like a DRONE, not a vehicle. Air vehicles are fighters and UH-60s for Americans! (I don't have a clue as to what the Russian air vehicles are.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.199.222.64 (talk) 16:27, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
games all steal for eachother and halo didn't come up with all of its own ideas, so it isn't article worthy plus it is only your opinion —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.24.106.106 (talk) 02:53, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Multiplayer Issues
Would it be possible to create a section detailing the multiplayer issues that are being experienced by some players.--EnemyDone (talk) 12:58, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, someone should also include the issues that huge numbers of Vista (also some XP) users are having with even starting the game. It simply won't run, for inexplicable reasons, on many computers. ---- AF 3-18-08
[edit] Hillary Clinton's 3 A.M. Call of Duty: Mission Bosnia
Really, how relevant is this whole section? It just appears to be a piece of pop culture trivia that has little actual importance to the game in any substantial way. I very strongly suggest it be completely removed. (Washboardplayer (talk) 10:54, 1 April 2008 (UTC))
[edit] Unit Classes: Sniper
That whole section doesn't seem nuetral to me. SkullZero (talk) 22:55, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] image crop
Should the main boxart image be cropped to exclude the Xbox 360 banner? It seems unneccesary. --Simpsons fan 66 01:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
