[edit] Taekwondo
Perhaps this article should be moved to Front kick (Taekwondo) as there is already a short description of the basic front kick under kick.--Daveswagon 14:25, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
- That or remove the heavy slant that implies TKD own the kick. Did some but needs a re-write --Nate1481( t/c) 10:12, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The picture is wrong
Umm... Armyboy here is using a sidekick in the second image. That's not a frontkick at all. It's also not a good thing that he is obviously pushing somewhat in the first image (since his knee is above a straight line from his hip to the target). That may be a variant of the front kick which is easier to use with shoes and the lot, but it is not what is practiced in karate, taekwondo, hapkido, etc.. Actually all chinese, japanese and korean styles I can think of at the moment try to avoid that pushing unless it's meant to be a push, which is a different action altogether. The method of kicking shown in the picture is the kind they teach in "street safe" courses and military training camps, not the pure front kick of the established martial arts.
I couldn't agree more. Glad it was changed. Ravstein 06:18, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Teep
The kick article mentions the term "teep", but this article doesn't. It should. – kentyman (talk) 03:43, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
