[edit] a concise definition at the beginning

I thought, in a journalistic way, that there should be a simple and clear one sentence definition for the layman at the beginning of the article. A frond is a botanical term but it also has considerable use as an English word, apart from the precision of a scientific definition. The extensive peroration that follows is useful for the less casual user or for someone who wants to be as precise as possible; however, I found it difficult to understand from the article what a frond actually is without using links, and that struck me as less helpful than perhaps it ought to be. I have footnoted the Webster's definition. NaySay 20:12, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
