[edit] Rumor
The rumor of Connery talking about game and having a desire to have was mentioned on BBC America two years ago. I thought it would be amusing to place this information, given how Connery has stated how the recent Bond films have strayed from Albert Broccoli's and Ian Fleming's dream. Of course it's UNTRUE. Duh. - GabrielNYC
- I very much doubt the validity of this story. I'd like to see actual sources on this please because there has been absolutely nothing reported on the next games in the series or for what I've read concerning Connery's involvment, anything like this. Most fans and gaming publication sites believe From Russia With Love was only put into development because EON had delayed their 21st film and didn't have a star to portray Bond. To go around what could be bad marketing move (using Brosnan when a new Bond is being announced), they went with a classic game. K1Bond007 03:58, August 2, 2005 (UTC)
right then. ill make sure to look for a page from two years ago old and ill email connery for his exact quote on how he got involved in the game. of course the validity is going to be doubted. it's a RUMOR. god... but whatever.
- Yeah well, rumors are nice, but this is an encyclopedia. Wikipedia:Verifiability K1Bond007 05:27, August 2, 2005 (UTC)
so move to under trivia then. lighten up.
[edit] Trivia bullet point on the engine, source
I'm not sure how to cite myself properly. I was the lead engineer for this title (Louis Gascoigne) so I know about the engine technology. The fact that I am credited in the game as the lead engineer makes me an expert when it comes to the program code however I'm afraid this might be considered original research. Unfortunately with the exception of 'Agent Under Fire' all of the magazine published information on the Bond engines is factually incorrect. I'm going to try and get MobyGames updated for the series but it's difficult due to the number of people in the credits and the format of the data, this would allow proper external source developer links.
Note that game magazines are notorious for having incorrect information.

[edit] Gameplay
Can someone with knowledge add some of the gameplay features? Such as deathmatch, co-op (if any), and general gameplay (driving/action missions).
Other game articles include the information and right now this one just has info on the story.

[edit] Title
To my knowledge, the words "James Bond 007" are not a part of the official title of this game (at least not according to the cover image). This article should be moved back to From Russia with Love (video game). 23skidoo 17:06, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- I thought this too, but actually EA sometimes titles it "James Bond 007: From Russia with Love" or "Bond: From Russia with Love" so it's hard to know which one is intended. K1Bond007 18:37, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- It is mostly referred to as simply From Russia With Love. Since that's what EA calls it on the offical web site, I'm moving it. Rhindle The Red 21:10, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, maybe not. :P I'll try and get it moved, though. Rhindle The Red 21:12, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Uhh...guys, I think it should be 007: From Russia with Love. You should move From Russia with Love to this article. Koolboy

Unless my eyes deceive me, I see "007" in large type right there on the cover. 72.43.142.189 21:03, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Weapons
I have now added a weapons section, but it needs a bit more infomation about the weapons, so please add whatever you think.Mr A 17:16, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
Just a note for accuracy, and as I haven't played or rented this game I won't edit, The magnum is listed as "A low magazine capacity high power revolver." . This is an impossibility. It's either a Semi-Auto with a magazine or a Revolver which has no magazine. I'm betting on a revolver as most magnums are, and low capacity is kind of a given on a magnum revolver having usually only 5 shots(with a magnum do you need more?) 66.161.217.94 14:06, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] SPECTRE
I know that SPECTRE was changed to Octopus to avoid copyright conflict with Kevin McClory. Why did they need to bother? The way I understood the settlement, Flemming got the book rights to Thunderball and SPECTRE while McClory got the film rights but, this is a video game. It is neither a novel or a movie. Couldn't EA Games theoretically have used SPECTRE without McClory's permission since he supposedly only had those rights as far as films were concerned. Emperor001 18:49, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Aston Martin Trivia
The trivia about the DB5 says "Also, the car is driven on the wrong side. Because it is from Britain, it should be driven on the left side, not the right." How can this be?
Just because a car is British made (left hand drive) does not mean it must be driven on the left side of the road. Turkey is, and according to Wiki always has been) a country that drove on the right hand side. This trivia point either is badly worded or is totally incorrect.Renquist 18:13, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
