Frotz

Frotz was a verb in MIT slang, meaning "to play with" or "to manipulate". This presumably led to its use in certain Infocom games (see below).

Frotz is also the name of the spell in Infocom's Enchanter series. This spell causes an object to glow with light.
A typical casting of the Frotz spell looks like this:
> frotz spellbook There is an almost blinding flash of light as the spell book begins to glow! It slowly fades to a less painful level, but the spell book is now quite usable as a light source.
