[edit] History

Front End Loader was formed in the early summer of 1991 in the back streets of the Sydney suburb of Darlington. 'Front End Loader' was originally chosen as a ridiculous, strictly temporary name, until something better came up.

Their first album was the self-titled Front End Loader, featuring the singles "Weak as Piss", "'Fraid Knot" and "All Star Jam". An appearance at the 1993 Sydney Big Day Out was the band's first experience of rock festival excess.

In early 1994 they released the Adolescent Fantasy World EP, and second album Let's Ride!, was released in March 1995. Their third album, Last of the V8 Interceptors emerged in August 1997, preceded by the single "Pulse", experienced high rotation radio play.

March 2002 saw the release of album number four How Can We Fail When We're So Sincere?. In August 2003 they released a mini-album titled Ape Got Fire.

The next release, scheduled to be a live album recorded at Sydney's Annandale Hotel, was anxiously awaited on by fans for approximately 4 years. Finally released on 01.04.2008, Laughing with Knives is a 2 CD set which Includes 22 tracks + a bonus 19-track disc of rarities & out-of-print recordings & an 8-page booklet with track-by-track liner notes.
