[edit] Wikipedia Zionist Cabal
Hi! You asked about a tag I added. I guess you mean Wikipedia Zionist Cabal? The tag is {{prod}} or PROposed Deletion. Information on Wikipedia must be sourced using reliable sources, the subjects of articles need to be notable, and original research is not allowed. I fear the article and its subject do not fulfill those criteria. But if you disagree you can delete the tag and we can take the question in front of more editors to discuss, namely using the AfD process. Thanks! Weregerbil 19:55, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi first off i think you were mistaken/confused about the topic of the article. In your explanation of the tag you wrote like no notable cabal and such. The article never was about any cabal, rather about the allegations/accusations of one. Like all conspiracy theory articles such as the 911 conspiracy and others they are never write about how a conspiracy is true, so when you ask me to bring reliable sources it might be as easy as bringing reliable sources for the US government blowing up the world trade center in controlled demolition. Secondly the matter of the name, i didn't really know what name to give i really wanted allegations or accusations in the title but it would be pretty long and you would find zero google hits to it, im very open to renaming if you know a better name i'd love to hear it. This brings me to the point that the google search is not really accurate and there are tons of articles here for which there are no google hits outside wikipedia. And the naming was really sorta random i considered many possibilities i think its easier to highlight the ridiculous conspiracy mongering nature of the whole thing. I've read a fair amount of articles on wikipedia and was always fascinated that it had information on everything. I think its an example of modern day antisemitism and worth debunking and documenting as many other topics about the subject. Friendship6 22:01, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

- The thing is, as far as I know, WP:V and WP:RS are really considered non-negotiable on Wikipedia. If there are allegations of a cabal, those allegations must be sourced from mainstream media - books, newspapers, etc. Sources such as blogs are not considered relevant, as anyone who can barely spell can start a blog (there are free ones where you can get an account in two minutes) and rant about anything he feels like. If it wasn't for that rule, Wikipedia would be another MySpace - anything goes. As far as a comparison to 9/11 conspiracy theories: those have received media attention; e.g. Popular Mechanics did an article debunking some popular silly ones. To rename an article, simply click the "move" tab at the top of the article. It'll ask you for the new title. Weregerbil 10:43, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
