[edit] Welcome to the Wikipedia
Welcome, newcomer!
Here are some useful tips to ease you into the Wikipedia experience:
- First, take a look at the Wikipedia Tutorial, and perhaps dabble a bit in the test area.
- When you have some free time, take a look at the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines. They can come in very handy!
- Remember to use a neutral point of view!
- If you need any help, feel free to post a question at the Help Desk
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Also, here are some odds and ends that I find useful from time to time:
- Wikipedia:Policy Library
- Wikipedia:Utilities
- Wikipedia:Cite your sources
- Wikipedia:Verifiability
- Wikipedia:Wikiquette
- Wikipedia:Civility
- Wikipedia:Conflict resolution
- Wikipedia:Brilliant prose
- Wikipedia:Pages needing attention
- Wikipedia:Peer review
- Wikipedia:Bad jokes and other deleted nonsense
- Wikipedia:Village pump
- Wikipedia:Boilerplate text
Feel free to ask me anything the links and talk pages don't answer. You can most easily reach me by posting on my talk page.
You can sign your name on any page by typing 4 tildes, likes this: ~~~~.
Best of luck, and have fun!

[edit] Okita Soji
In regard of your edits on the Okita Soji article
1. 00:07, 18 January 2005 Friday13 m (Correcting the category (1868 deaths>1869 deaths))
2. 00:03, 18 January 2005 Friday13 m (Correcting year of death in biography.)
While the exact date of Okita's birth is uncertain, the date of his death is NOT. The claim that he died in 1869 is RIDICULOUS! (One only has to check up a few historical references to know that.) Please don't take someone's word for it just like that.... Thank you very much. Nlf7 09:19, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dominican Republic
Hello. Just wanted to ask if there is some new administrative division of Dominican Republic or edits like this: [1] from this user [2] is just sneaky vandalism. Thank you. - Darwinek 10:16, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't heard of any new provinces being created (there was a plan to split Santo Domingo, but that was scrapped, apparently). While that user created many articles, a lot (if not most, didn't see them all) of his edits certainly looks like vandalism. Friday13 00:14, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
