Raiffeisen was the single most important leader in world credit union history. He was also a major figure in microfinance, as he developed highly effective methods of delivering microfinance services in poor rural communities -- frequently imitated but rarely with success. But there is almost no material on his life available in English; someone who knows German will have to write this. I'm not going to rely on Babblefish!Brett epic (talk) 17:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
