The man's name is Friedrich which in English translates to Frederick, which for a listing would be unjustified but certainly more justified than the erroneous "Frederich" which is neither correct in English nor his name. Beethoven's name is Ludwig but his entries don't appear as Louis which is the English for Ludwig. This entry should be correctly titled Friedrich.

[edit] Page move and other things

I've moved it per the comment above and per the google test. I've also removed a lot of text copied from Edition Silvertrust, as I don't think it should be in wikipedia as it contains opinion and conjecture. The part about him not playing the flute contradicts with the other external link, so I've removed it also. If I get time, I might work on the article some more and add more information. Looking at the carolinaclassical.com external link, it says nothing about Kuhlau playing the flute, just that that he *may* have received lessons from his father. I don't know how I misread that so I'm putting the part about him not playing flute back in. Graham87 03:36, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Kuhlau did not play the flute. See:

Kuhlau authorities Ejner Johansson & Poul Birkelund have written: "Han var, skont det modsatte ofte er haevdet, ikke selv flojtist, hans omfattende produktion skydes..." Rough Translation: "[Kuhlau's production includes quite a quantity of chamber music...most often with the flute, which he did not play himself." D.Fr. Kuhlau, Johansson, Ejner.

Your conclusion seems to be ok, but the translation is a bit too rough. "Han var, skønt det modsatte ofte er hævdet, ikke selv fløjtist, hans omfattende produktion skyldes... " = "He was, though the opposite is often claimed, not himself a flute-player. His vast production was caused by ..." Valentinian T / C 16:40, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
