[edit] In pop culture

Friz Quadrata is the typeface used to display character names and item information in Blizzard Entertainment's 2004 MMORPG, World of Warcraft.

It is also the typeface used in the titles and credits sequences of the TV show Law & Order and its spinoffs, having been chosen for this purpose because the identifying plaque of One Police Plaza, the headquarters of the New York City Police Department, has its letters carved into this typeface.

This font's regular version is used as The University of Arizona's official font. It is used for all official University of Arizona Trademarks and Logos including on official web page header type. It is also used by the nearby Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL for the names on their uniforms.

Friz Quadrata is also used as the logo for influential hardcore punk band Black Flag. Friz Quadrata bold can be seen on every Black Flag album cover.
