Fritz Raschig (June 8, 1863 - February 4, 1928 )was a German chemist and politician. After he received his PhD in 1884 from the University of Berlin for his work with Robert Wilhelm Bunsen he started working at the BASF company. In 1891 he opened his own chemical company. He discovered the Raschig phenol process‎. He also developed the Raschig ring, small glas rings which are used in commercial fractional distillation columns.
