Friedrich Bernhard Gottfried Nicolai

Friedrich Bernhard Gottfried Nicolai (October 25, 1793-June 4, 1846) was a German astronomer.

Born in Braunschweig, he was educated at Goettingen. In 1816 he joined the Mannheim observatory where he became the director.

Nicolai crater on the Moon is named after him.
