[edit] Heroin

1. Next time, when you place a comment on a talk page, sign the comment with four tildes ~~~~. 2. Go here Talk:Cocaine and ask for "Crack cocaine" to be a separate article. WhisperToMe 23:26, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

And what if a media source, such as ABC News, repeats the student's claim? Are you saying that it is no more reliable, in this case? WhisperToMe 18:21, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

What if we contacted the author of the article? Her name is Anna Schecter. Let me see if I can e-mail her directly. Ah, her e-mail address is anna.r.schecter@abc.com WhisperToMe 21:22, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Here is what I sent Schecter: "Hello, Anna Schecter. I have a question about the Cheese article here:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/07/_high_schools_s.html

I am writing a Wikipedia article about "Cheese" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheese_(recreational_drug)

So, did you confirm the boy's statements about Jefferson High School to be true?

Some people on Wikipedia wonder if it is appropriate for me to include the statement: "Michelle Hemm, the clinical director of the Phoenix Academy of Dallas, a drug treatment facility for teenagers, stated that individuals as young as 11 have been admitted as heroin addicts in the clinic [7]. A 16-year old at the academy stated that Thomas Jefferson High School is the "main school" for the Cheese trade [8]." (I cited your article as a reference)

Thank you :)"

Now, as for the "Most kids caught with Cheese are Hispanic teenagers" comment, I used the Dallas Morning News as a source for that one. I would assume that DMN did its homework, as I know that DISD and the Dallas Police keep track of who is being busted with "Cheese." WhisperToMe 21:37, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Cool! I edited that statement to say "caught with Cheese" WhisperToMe 21:49, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I got this from her: "Hi there Vic. How did you get my email? Michelle Hemm agreed with the boy's statement and I spoke with one of the drug counselors who agreed. However, I can't confirm whether the problem there is MORE than any other school in the Dallas Independent School District. I know Thomas C. Marsh Middle School also has a problem.

Thanks! Anna"
