[edit] Speedy Deletion

This page was tagged for speedy deletion by User:Slf67 some 40 minutes after it went up. That's a pretty good response time :-) . However, I must contest this decision.

The implication, of course, is that this page constitutes spam. Wikipedia is an anthropological reflection of our world, and as such should aim to describe all the things in this world as fully and as accurately as possible. Freshtel exists, it is not fictional, it's a company like many others.

The only valid argument about this page is that it did not cite its sources. I have remedied this.

Wikipedia is run by the people. I believe that we should allow people other than me to contribute to this page, in order to give their views. I do not feel that it should be destroyed, and the information collected within it to be scattered to the winds. Even if this is done, at some stage, sooner or later, someone will put up a page to replace it; that page will also describe the same company, but might do so no more accurately, and will clearly necessitate a duplication of effort.

For these reasons, I request that either:

  1. if the current addition of references is seen as sufficient, the speedy deletion tag is removed; or
  2. a user modifies the page into a satisfactory state, and removes the speedy deletion tag; or
  3. a user suggests some changes that should be made, with a view to the speedy deletion tag being removed once those changes are in place.

Hopefully this is not too much to ask :-) . --pmj 10:53, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
