[edit] spoiler warnings

wikipedia (or someone else) really needs to keep their spoiler warnings up to date, I didn't see anything of the sort and I mistakingly read optimus' and frenzy's endings in the neww movie. someone please fix thatThundertamerS 08:23, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Be prepared for spoilers without warning everywhere on Wikipedia: an anti-warning movement has recently succeeded in having them largely abandoned.--Patrick 11:17, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rank

Just wondering, whenever I see the biography for a Transformer who appeared in the movie, I see a rank from 1 to 10 (though I really have not seen less than 5). What is that for? 68.81.252.24 00:47, 8 July 2007 (UTC)68.81.252.24

They have a rank number on the toy boxes as to their position in the chain of command of the Autobots and Decepticons. 10 is the highest (Optimus and Megatron commanding their forces) and the other numbers are the various ranks below them. Transformers have had 1 to 10 ranks since they were invented in 1984. There is no given name for the ranks, just numbers. user:mathewignash

[edit] 2007 movie Frenzy IS a reference to the Gremlins

I took my three nieces and my sister to see that movie on July.

When Frenzy first appeared, all five of us agreed that he was an homage to the Gremlins.

Let's see:

-he talks just like the Gremlins (listen to the Gremlins talk: all of them, Brain being the obvious exception, talk just like Frenzy)

-he's short, pointy, with razor-sharp claws, just like the Gremlins

-he can turn machinery against humans, like the Gremlins

-he gets decapitated at one point in the movie, just like the Gremlin who attacks Mrs. Peltzer (Billy's mom) from the Christmas tree

And Spielberg IS known from putting references to his movies in his other movies. Remember the Gremlins reference in "The Goonies"? The "Jurassic Park" references in both "Flintstone" movies? The "batteries not included" reference in "Men in Black 2"? The Gremlins reference in "The 'burbs" and "Small Soldiers"? The "Poltergeist" reference in "Casper"? The "Innerspace" refrence in Gremlins 2? The Twilight Zone reference in "The Terminal" (Spielberg directed part of the Twilight Zone movie)?

So, why do you keep denying it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Agustinaldo (talkcontribs) 10:25, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

It isn't a case that we are denying it, it is just a case that Wikipedia requires VERIFIABLE facts in its articles. Let's take a hypothetical example. I have seen Daddy Day Care, and there is a scene where Eddie Murphy dresses up as a giant vegetable. In Shrek, Donkey (voiced by Eddie) and Shrek discuss onions, and there is a giant turnip at the end. I could therefore conclude that Eddie Murphy likes to include occasional references to vegetables in his films, especially giant ones.
I then discuss it with my family, who have also noticed a connection, and agree that this must be the case. So, can I include this fact in the relevant wikipedia articles?
No. First off, anything that I believe to be true is classed as Original Research. Even if all my friends agree with me, it is still original research.
Secondly, even if it were true, can I find a proof that it is true? By proof, I mean something like an interview where Eddie Murphy has stated that he likes giant vegetables, and film makers reference this fad in his films. Or a recognised reviewer (like Barry Norman or Roger Ebert) commenting on the use of root vegetables in his films. Proof is NOT the same as belief. I believe that he likes vegetables is not the same as KNOWING that he likes vegetables. And seeing him eat a vegetable in a restaurant is not classed as proof either.
Having IMDB state that he likes vegetables is not enough either, I'm afraid, any more than quoting another Wikipedian article. Because both are contributed to by the general public, claims made sadly cannot always be taken as true.
Going back to your comparissons, you could quite easily argue that Frenzy is based on the Terminatrix from Terminator 3: She can turn machines against humans. She loses her head (when it is blown apart at the end of the film). Her hands turn sharp and pointy when she wants to attack someone. I'm sure I could get a few people here to agree with me. Does it make it fact? No.
I would suggest than rather get into an edit war about including these opinions of yours in the article, go and seek out PROOF that your belief in the connection between Gremlins and Frenzy exist. Once you can verify it, it can go in the article. And please, please, PLEASE read the Wikipedia policy on Original Research. StephenBuxton (talk) 12:52, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
If you can find an article to link to with someone in the movie saying "I made him like a Gremlin", or even an independent review of people saying "He reminded me of a Gremlin" it might help your case. Mathewignash (talk) 10:45, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
