article needs expansion. there is not much in the way of the french army other than a list of current units (which should be a separate article?). compare with the british army article which is good--203.218.92.126 02:46, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Quite agreed. The French Navy article is undertaking a similar refit which is quite beneficial. Rama 07:52, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Armee de Terre organigramme.png

I removed the image Image:Armee de Terre organigramme.png from the article, as it contains to many errors. i.e.:

  • the 1st and 3rd Brigade are Brigades mécanisée and not Brigades motorisée
  • the 2e régiment de dragons is (since July 2005) not anymore part of the 2e Brigade blindée but part of the Brigade du génie and a NBC Defence Rgt. And not a Tank Rgt.
  • the symbol for the units of the logistics Brigades is wrong- these are not combat supply units
  • the 13e Régiment de Dragons Parachutistes belongs to the Brigade des forces spéciales terre and does so since July 1st, 2002! (since 5 years!)

There are many, many more errors and clearly the graphic is anything but the actual structure of the French Army. What surprises me is that there is a complete and current (2007) listing of all units of the French Army and a correct graphic (except for the materials bases and support centres) in the article Structure of the French Army, to which this article links. Even the French, Italian and German wikipedia articles are correct and up to date. Therefore I removed the graphic and suggest a major update and correction of it. --noclador 23:49, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
