Let's please use the present tense when writing about the content of fiction. For example, "Fred Flintsone lives in Bedrock," not "Fred Flintsone lived in Bedrock."--60.43.34.23 03:02, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Barney's Occupation

Actually, it is not very clear what Barney did for a living. At times Barney and Fred would work at the Quarry together. At one time, Barney filled in for Fred's supervisor to hilarious results. At other times he worked at a bowling alley and one other time was quote as a "geological engineer." It was in later years of the series when Barney settled in as Fred's coworker.

Allegedly, Barney was considered Fred Flintstone's "right-hand-man" in the organized crime ring that Fred had run with partners in the Quarry workers' union. A known incident of Fred and Barney's criminal involvement is documented in Ep-19 "The Big Bank Robbery" where the duo "accidentally" acquire $86,000 worth of stolen merchandise only to claim they mistakenly acquired such goods. Sources close to both Fred and Barney report that Such merchandise was to be transported overseas to a black market ring run by the Japanese Yakuza. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.154.91.225 (talk) 15:28, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

I thought he worked at the quarry all the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.152.143 (talk) 14:29, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inspiration for Fred

Do we have a source that Fred Flintstone was based upon Ralph Cramden? And not just a speculative writer, but perhaps something the creator himself said? 66.75.8.138 23:46, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Running Joke

  • A Running joke is that Fred will be outwitted by his nemisis Arnold the Newsboy-in one epsiode Arnold tricks Fred into twice playing double for his newspaper!!

[edit] Birth Date

I'm a bit confused about the birthdate. 1921? Shouldn't it be "something" B.C.?
