[edit] Character introduction

At the start of the trilogy, Frenn is a novice at The Echorium who is friends with Rialle and Chissar (both in his class). Frenn frequently defends Rialle from Kherron who tries to make fun of her whenever possible. He is one of the major characters in Song Quest and gets himself stuck on a Singer ship bound for the mainland. He is the only survivor of the rockfall at the Karchlord stronghold.

Carrying on into Crystal Mask, Frenn plays a small part within the story; he travels with the Singer group which is focused on finding Frazhin and Shaiala. He dies from a rockfall at the Pass of Silence when Renn shouts a warning to the other Singers and orderlies that enemies were approaching which caused a rockfall due to the shear noise that he made. It is believed Frenn was the father of Renn as Rialle and Frenn had a close relationship in Song Quest.
