On 23 April 1794, Résolue fought 5 British frigate in the Channel, and managed to escape.

She took part in the Expédition d'Irlande. On 22 December 1796, she collided with Redoutable in Bantry Bay, destroying her bowsprit, mizzen, upper main mast and artimon, and had to be towed to Brest by Pégase.

She was captured by HMS Melampus on 14 October 1798
