The Pomone was a 40-gun frigate of the French Navy.
She was captured, along with Babet and Engageante, off Batz on 23 April 1794. She was subsenquently recommissioned in the Royal navy as HMS Pomone mounting 48 guns, and used by Captain Gower[1] to take another prize, the La Carrère in 1801.[2] Her designed inspired the Endymion class.
