Frei family

The Frei family of Chile is of Swiss origin, became politically influential during the 20th century, and has played and still plays a significant role in Chilean politics. Its most prominent members are:
- Eduardo Frei Montalva (1911–1982), Chilean politician, President of Chile (1964-1970)
- Irene Frei Montalva (1916-1964), sister to Eduardo Frei Montalva, Chilean politician
- María Ruiz-Tagle Jiménez, wife to Eduardo Frei Montalva
- Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle (born 1942), son of Eduardo Frei Montalva, Chilean politician, President of Chile (1994-2000), senator, current president of the Senate (since 2006)
- Marta Larraechea Bolívar, wife to Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle
