Freehold Area Running Club

Freehold Area Running Club was founded in 1983 at Liberty Oak Park, Freehold, New Jersey. Paul Fitch was the first President. There were about 45 charter members and the first Summer Race Series was held at Monmouth Battlefield State Park in the Summer of 1983.
Over the years, the Club has raised over $100,000 for charities through its many events. The Summer Series, the Progressive Marathon Winter Series, the Governor's Race for Open Space, The St. Patty's Day 10 miler, and Toys for Tots are just some of the races-that have been organized and conducted over the years.
The Freehold Area Running Club is associated with the Road Runners Club of America. The current membership has grown to over 450.
