Typical use | Shoelace tying |
The freedom knot is a knot which can be used for tying shoelaces. This knot does not come untied, no matter the vibration or travels suffered. The freedom knot does come untied when you pull on either shoelace end. The tighter you pull on the bunny ears, the tighter the two 'nips' become. The freedom knot is a modified surgeon's knot, which intentionally does not come untied. The freedom knot differs from the surgeon's knot by having the plastic ends of the laces pushed back through the hole, creating the bunny ears.
