Freedom Square (Miami)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Freedom Square, otherwise known as 600 Biscayne or 600 Biscayne Bay, is a planned mixed-use skyscraper in downtown Miami, Florida. It is to be located on the west side of Biscayne Boulevard near Northeast 6th Street, forming part of the Biscayne Wall, a series of skyscrapers on the eastern portion of the Miami skyline along Biscayne Boulevard in northern downtown. The building has been approved by the city council and the Federal Aviation Administration as of 2005, and construction is slated to begin sometime in 2007. The construction is expected to be complete in 2009. The tower will be 650 ft (198 m) tall, and rise 62 floors. Residential units and office space will occupy the majority of the building. The bottom floors will contain retail and parking facilities. The Freedom Tower Metro Station and American Airlines Arena are both within two blocks of the building site.
