FreedomHEC

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

FreedomHEC (a play on WinHEC) is an annual "unconference" for computer hardware engineers and device driver developers. FreedomHEC focuses on making computer hardware interoperate with free software and open source operating systems, especially Linux.

The first FreedomHEC conference was held May 26-27, 2006, in Seattle. The second was held May 18-19, 2007 in Los Angeles. FreedomHEC is scheduled immediately before or after WinHEC—and in the same city—so that developers who want to attend both need only make one trip.
