Free funk

Free funk is a combination of Avant-garde jazz with funk music. Leaders of the genre have been musicians such as Ornette Coleman, Jamaaladeen Tacuma and James "Blood" Ulmer. The music has been quite influential on the M-Base genre, as well.[1]
