Free Princes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Free Princes (Arabic: الأمراء الأحرار) was a Saudi liberal political movement founded in 1958 by Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud (Arabic: طلال بن عبدالعزيز) due to the tensions between King Faisal and King Saud. The civil rights movement under the leadership of the prince requested the Saudi authorities to implement political reforms and called for a constitution. King Faisal expelled its members to Egypt and later on pardoned them. Since the late 1970s, the movement no longer exists.
