Frederick Zammit hails from Malta and is the writer of Malta's most popular TV series Santa Monika, which was screened between October 2005 and March 2006. The second series has been aired from October 2006, with a third scheduled for October 2007.

Zammit, born on April 20, 1970, has been working in the media since 1986. His first contributions to local media was with the TV guide GWIDA, Malta's oldest television publication. He also used to contribute articles in the music magazine Far Out!

In 1990 he joined the editorial team of the magazine GWIDA on full time basis where he worked as assistant editor for 10 years.

In 1998, Frederick Zammit started collaborating with another company, Image 2000 Ltd and together created the successful IR-RAFF monthly magazine.

In 2000 he joined Max Plus, a cable channel that operated for a couple of years.

After Max Plus closed down, Frederick Zammit joined media.link Communications to work as Public Relations Executive of their television station Net TV as well as editor of the new magazine Life & Style.

On television he contributed on Weekend Breakfast (Max Plus), L-Isfida (Net TV), Malta International TV Song Festival (One Television), Mid-Dinja ta' L-Ispettaklu (Net TV, during the daily programme Sijju) and others.

In 2004 Frederick Zammit was promoted to Head of Commercial Publications within the same company and a year later become Net TV's new Head of Programmes.

In 2003 Frederick Zammit introduced the first Eurovision Song Contest weekly television series and has each year produced a similar programme. In both 2003 and 2005 the series, Lejn il-Eurovision, was hosted by Claudette Pace, herself a Eurovision participant having placed 8th in 2000 with Desire. In 2004 the show, 50 Eurovision was hosted by Marica Mizzi.

His latest venture, Santa Monika, proved extremely popular with local viewers starting off with 75,000 viewers and having ended with 93,000 viewers in March.

One survey, done by Malta's Sunday publication Malta Today, featured on its front page that Santa Monika was the most popular television programme on the island. Image 2000 reached another agreement with Zammit to script more episodes for the coming years.

The third season of Santa Monika started on Net TV in October 2007. Due to its success, the third season was contracted to run until June 2008, totaling 33 episodes for the season. In all three seasons, Santa Monika consisted of 68 episodes, thus being Net Tv's longest running drama series. Onca again, Frederick Zammit was involved with the Lejn il-Eurovision tv series, broadcast daily from 20.30 on Net Tv from May 12 and also did the daily links from Serbia to Net TV for that year. Zammit was also reconfirmed chairman of the 2008 Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza.
