Frederick Thornhill (September 25, 1846July 23, 1876) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire in 1876. Thornhill was born in Beeston and died in Toton Sidings.

Thornhill made a single appearance for Derbyshire, against Lancashire in 1876, where he scored a pair in an innings defeat from the lower-middle order.

Thornhill died at the age of 29, a mere seven weeks after his appearance for Derbyshire, probably a club record for the shortest amount of time between a first and only first-class appearance and a player's death.
