Frederick Niels Larsen (born 15 January 1932) is the President/Prophet of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

His Father is Edward J. Larsen, a Danish immigrant to the United States. His mother is Lois A. Smith, the daughter of Frederick M. Smith, the President/Prophet of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints form 1915 - 1946. Frederick M. Smith's father was Joseph Smith III, the son of Joseph Smith, Jr. The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints put great importance on the lineage to Joseph Smith Jr. in determining the church leadership.
[edit] Education and professional life
Frederick's early years were spent on a family farm in East Independence, Missouri, an important city in the history of the Latter Day Saint movement. While in high school, the Larsen family moved to Santa Ana, California where he graduated Garden Grove Union High School in 1950.
He attended both Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa and the University of Kansas City, Missouri graduating with a degree in Chemistry in 1959.
He worked at various laboratories, including 35 at Bendix Corporation, retiring from there in 1994. He has also worked as a consultant at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

- Frederick was blessed as a baby by his grandfather, Frederick M. Smith.
- He was ordained a Priest in 1956 by his great uncle Israel A. Smith, the Prophet-President of The RLDS Church from 1946-1958.
- He was ordained to be an Elder by W. Wallace Smith another great uncle.
He was active in ministry in the RLDS church until 1984. In 1996 he begain to attend a Restoration Branch and the Conference of Restoration Elders. He was one of the twelve signers of the "Proclamation and Invitation to the Faithful"in 1999.
On April 6, 2000 the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints declared itself to be the correct successor to the original church organized by Joseph Smith Jr.
- Frederick was ordained to the office of High Priest and the president of the High Priest Quorum one year later. (April 2001)
- In 2002 he presented himself to the General Conference as a descendant of Joseph Smith Jr. who had been called to the office of President/Prophet. The conference accepted the call and he was ordained.

Frederick married Mary Louise Malott on June 7, 1952. They have five children.
