Fred Rutten

Fredericus ("Fred") Jacobus Rutten (born December 5, 1962 in Wijchen, Gelderland) is a Dutch football coach and former football player.

As a player Rutten was active for FC Twente from 1979 to 1992. He has managed for FC Twente (assistant manager, manager and technical director) and PSV Eindhoven (youth coach and assistant manager). Currently he is in his second spell at FC Twente, where he is both the technical director and manager. Starting in the summer of 2008, he'll take over as the head coach of Schalke 04.
