Fred Horne

Fred Horne (born August 25, 1961, Ontario, Canada) is a politician from Alberta, Canada. He is a current member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Edmonton Rutherford. He has sit with the Progressive Conservative caucus since being elected in March 2008.

[edit] Political career
Horne first ran for the Alberta Progressive Conservatives in the 2004 Alberta general election. He finished a distant second in the Edmonton Riverview electoral district finishing well behind Liberal leader Kevin Taft.[1] After the election he served the Executive Assistant for Iris Evans.
Horne ran as a Progressive Conservative candidate for the second time in the 2008 Alberta general election. This time he ran in the Edmonton Rutherford electoral district and defeated incumbent Rick Miller. Horne currently sits as a backbencher for the Government, he was appointed to the Agenda and Priorities Committee.[2]

Fred and his wife Jennifer, a physical therapist, made Edmonton their home in 1992 and volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Both enjoy Edmonton’s vibrant arts and culture scene, flying, and walking their dog through Edmonton's spectacular river valley.
