The freckled catshark, Scyliorhinus haeckelii, is a cat shark of the family Scyliorhinidae found on the continental shelf and upper slope from the western Atlantic from western Venezuela, Suriname, Brazil, and Uruguay between latitudes 11° N and 32° S, at depths of between 40 and 5,220 m. Its length is up to 35 cm.
Reproduction is oviparous.
