Freaky Styley is the second album by Red Hot Chili Peppers, released in 1985 through EMI America. It saw the band back with original guitarist Hillel Slovak. It had four singles: "Jungle Man", "American Ghost Dance", "Catholic School Girls Rule", and "Hollywood (Africa)". The cover artwork features the band jumping in front of Michelangelo's Last Judgment.
It was produced by George Clinton of Parliament-Funkadelic (who were a major influence on the Chili Peppers) fame and featured a full horn section, with Flea actually being a part. It never dented the Billboard Top 200, and most professional critics ignored it completely and have, in most cases, continued to do so. However, regardless of this, many fans believe it is a classic Chili Peppers' album and a prime example of the 80s funk rock movement.
The track "Yertle the Turtle" uses several verses directly from Dr. Seuss' poem of the same name, "Yertle the Turtle".
