This is sub-category of surfing, for both river surfing and lake surfing.

Areas for growth could include adding freshwater surfing locations, which could also be added to categories and lists for all surf breaks (as per Sheboygan, Wisconsin in List of surfing areas).

Lake and river surfing are obviously very different. What they share is their unique non-ocean status. They are grouped here under the freshwater surfing category but could merit their own categories as more articles appear.

Tidal bores, used for river surfing, would seem to involve brackish water moving up a freshwater river, and have been added here, too.
